What is a Parrothead? First and foremost, we are a social club (think the other animal clubs: Eagles, Elks, Moose, or Ralph Kramden's: Raccoons). PHiP (Parrot Heads in Paradise, our parent) is registered with the IRS as a 501 (c) 7.  Which is how the Pittsburgh Parrothead Club is filed.

The second leg of the 3 legged bar stool, is: we party with a purpose.  Our goal, when being social, is to earn money for charity, provide a valuable service, improve the world, or generally help others.

The third leg is that most people in the club like the laid back topical life style, which includes trop-rock, island, and poolside music. Of course, Mr. James W. (Jimmy) Buffett, as the King of Somewhere Hot, is the principal of our affection.

There are over 230 clubs world wide. There are over 25,000 card tote'n members, and we are in 3 countries.

Usually when talking to someone about the club, they will like at least one of the legs of that bar stool.
